All of our items we sell are guaranteed original and authentic items from their respective countries (the Contemporary Sculptures are Australian made, Zimbabwe for the life-size Outdoor Metal Sculptures, and the Furniture, Decor, and other Art items are all from India, The Middle East: Morocco, Egypt, Turkey (etc), and also items from West Africa: Mali, Ivory Coast (etc), and also from Pakistan, Afghanistan and etc- for all the other items- each one unique) and NOT lesser quality imitation factory made Asian imports that are appearing in some of the retail shops for similar prices.

Each and every item classed and stated as Antique can come with a certificate as proof of being an antique, which the buyer can receive with their purchase - please ask for yours when making your purchase.

Zimbabwean Metal Sculptures

I buy these metal sculptures from a few sources. A few are (separate) owners of different factories located in Harare & Bulawayo, Zimbabwe (Africa), where their workers create each and every one of these fantastic hand made sculptures.
Some are registered members of the Fair Trade Association.

Refunds & Returns

Any items you purchase from Beyond the Sahara can be returned within 3 days of receipt of items (must be informed within 24 hours of receipt that item is being returned) if the items are found not to be as pictured/described. But please be aware- return postage/freight is sole responsibility of the buyer and including any breakages as Insurance is the responsibility of the buyer.
Please choose carefully. We do not normally give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong selection. You can choose between a refund, exchange or credit where goods are faulty, wrongly described, different from a sample shown to you or don't do what they are supposed to do.

We send ALL our items within Australia with Couriers Please (see Contact & Ordering Page)- which is automatically covered for Insurance and has online tracking or Registered Mail through Australia Post and Insured for items over $100 at buyers expense (Registered mail covers Insurance up to $100).
All furniture items can be sent by any Carrier of the buyers choosing. We recommend "Aladdins On The Move Transport"- details on our Contact & Ordering page or www.backloads.com.

For all overseas sales- with Australia Post Insurance is required @ AU$7.85 for the first $100 value or can be sent with Skippy Post with Insurance. Large items too large to be sent with Australia Post & Skippy Post are sent with Jetta Express- please see "Ordering" page for full details, Sea Freight or any Courier or method the buyer chooses.
Same conditions for overseas sales- buyer to pay for Insurance and/or Registered mail/parcels fees.

This guarantee applies to all items purchased from Beyond the Sahara irrespective of the location of purchase, i.e. web site, Shopping Centre stall in person, Market stall or auction site, etc.

All attempts have been made to provide an accurate description and evaluation of the condition of all pieces. I buy all these items from my suppliers, though most of the furniture, decor and art items are aged, old or antique, but are structurally sound unless otherwise stated.
All our items have been hand made, so please do not expect factory like precision of shapes or appearances.

We have tried to photograph all items so as to match the colour of the photographs as closely as possible to the original, however some colour variation may occur due to the combination of web resolution images, different lighting and digital photography.
When choosing, please ask for further photos if required before making your decision.
Any item that has been restored will state it has been restored.
